This year’s conference theme is “Hip-Hop as Transformation: Empowering Education, Industries, and Communities.” The theme is focused on highlighting the transformative potential of hip-hop to inspire change, challenge inequities, and empower individuals. It acknowledges hip-hop’s influence not only in education but also across industries like technology, business, art, and social activism, while emphasizing its role in improving lives and fostering equity.

Call for Conference Proposals
We are pleased to invite proposals for the HipHopEd Conference 2025, the premier conference in the field of hip-hop and education.
We welcome proposals for the following presentation formats:
Paper presentations: These sessions will consist of 20-minute presentations followed by a brief Q&A session.
Interactive Workshops: These 50-minute sessions will be interactive and hands-on, allowing participants to learn a new idea, skill, practice, or technique that can be incorporated into practice.
All proposals must be submitted by Monday, March 24th, 11:59 pm EST. Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to the conference theme, their originality and quality, and their potential to contribute to the field of hip-hop and education.
Accepted presenters will be notified by Monday, April 7th. We look forward to receiving your proposals and to seeing you at the HipHopEd Conference 2025!

When and where is HipHopEd Conference 2025?
The HipHopEd Conference will be held on Friday, June 6th – Saturday, June 7th, 2025, and the HipHopEd Conference at Teachers College, Columbia Unviersity.
How do I register?
Only registered participants can attend the conference. Participants can register for the conference here. NYC Department of Education and other schools can register groups of teachers via purchase order. Email conference@hiphoped.com for more information.
Does HipHopEd provide personal accommodations (ie: lodging, transportation, etc.)?
Unfortunately, as a non-profit organization, HipHopEd does not provide funding for travel or lodging.
